Thanks everyone for the help on the "Eton" pronunciation, we'll get it right next time! And BTW we used our hands on the fish because we just didn't really care for the tiny wooden forks 😂 Thanks for watching!

  • Reply Rachel Hudson June 11, 2019 at 1:22 am

That fish looks absolutely perfect. A simple dish but it doesn't need any other flavourings.

  • Reply pizzarollas June 11, 2019 at 9:45 pm

Wait. A fish supper usually comes with 2 fish!

They saw the Americans coming a mile off!

remember guys, even if it is miserable outside, that's the British way, you find a bus stop and look thoroughly miserable eating up that deliciousness.

The little tents on the side of the caravans are called awnings and very popular.

Fish and chips, full english breakfast… you need a mug of tea to strip the grease at the end. Then you'll understand our obsession with tea.

Regrettably I live in Manchester, UK and you just can't get decent fish and chips for love or money. I could tell from your video you both hit Fish and Chip gold in Cornwall, as would be expected.  Regrettably I live far too far away to be able to pop in to the shop and get some.  Glad you got to sample what used to be our national dish.  These days curry is said to be our favourite. Well, not for this ancient fish n chips lover!!

  • Reply Stephen Snell June 20, 2019 at 8:34 pm

Great taste, me and the wife go on holiday to Mavagissey every year and get Fish and Chips from that chippy. Glad you enjoyed them, you don't feel hungry after eating those meals 🙂

  • Reply Carole Smith June 21, 2019 at 9:33 am

What a charming vlog, I really enjoyed watching and am pleased you liked Cornwall.

  • Reply Robert Rouse June 21, 2019 at 3:58 pm

You know its summer in England, the rain is warm, and that goes double for Ireland. You can not beat Fish and Chips, but only from a real fish and chip shop, not plus kebabs, etc etc. A good ad for the Fishermen's Chippy well done.

  • Reply John Smith June 21, 2019 at 10:47 pm

Who goes to the English coast without Goretex or oilskin??

  • Reply John Smith June 21, 2019 at 10:56 pm

Black currants exotic????  Completely basic in Europe.  Americans are such cafones.

My home town St Austell.Hope you liked it.As for the Kelly's ice cream my great grandad was their gardener and he was Irish and his last name was Kelly so they decided to name it Kelly's after my great grandad as they didn't know what to call it .

  • Reply TomBatch June 24, 2019 at 2:45 pm

In a fish and chip shop our large is your supersize. They always give you loads of chips 😂

  • Reply David West June 26, 2019 at 12:17 pm

Now I hope at some stage you tried curry sauce with your f&c, the best we had in UK was the Leeds fish and chip shop in Scarborough .

  • Reply Derry Parke June 29, 2019 at 9:10 am

They were amazed that it wasn't preprepared… Because we eat fresh food in the UK. That fish was probably caught a couple of days ago if that.
Is it just me, or do most British people find Americans annoying

  • Reply Pegasus June 29, 2019 at 12:49 pm

Actually, fish and chips are not British, you noobs, indeed. It's a Jewish meal and the British have very little food that is actually British. You idiots!!!!

  • Reply B A Ryan July 4, 2019 at 6:35 pm

I am really hungry now. And I am bloody vegetarian.

  • Reply Jeff Devries July 5, 2019 at 4:28 am

Yummy! I am jealous!! I remember H. SALT fish and chips in San Jose, California. Once a week H. SALT fish 'n' chips and Kentucky fried chicken!

  • Reply Hugh Jarce July 5, 2019 at 6:51 am

Note to American tourists: If you're travelling to the UK you know it's very likely to rain even in the summertime, so either bring breathable waterproofs with you (tops and bottoms that fold up small into a little pouch that you can keep in a rucksack) and/or bring a telescopic umbrella which collapses down small and doesn't take up much room. An umbrella is fine if it's not windy, but if it is then waterproofs are better. Breathable waterproofs mean you won't sweat when wearing them because like GoreTex they let sweat out but stop rain from getting in.

  • Reply Hugh Jarce July 5, 2019 at 7:03 am

Another good way to eat fish and chips is to ask for salt only, but no vinegar, take it home with you, squeeze lemon juice over the fish and eat with tartare sauce. You can also eat it with mushy peas (bought from the chippie) or with normal garden peas or petits pois.

  • Reply Steve Otting July 5, 2019 at 7:43 am

    Tarter sauce?

  • Reply Jason Goodacre July 5, 2019 at 8:33 am

    Eton Mess – it’s pronounced Eee:tun

  • Reply Kevin Kibble July 7, 2019 at 11:25 pm

Having it with scraps and curry sauce is the way.

  • Reply Katie-Jo Blyth July 14, 2019 at 1:59 pm

I’m so upset that they didn’t order a battered sausage with their fish and chips, or curry sauce it’s soooo bomb 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

  • Reply Jeroen Van Zwam July 25, 2019 at 12:30 pm

You guys getting all dressed up for the rain and meanwhile the dude in the back in the white shirt walking by is like nothing going on here. xD

  • Reply Kevster 100 August 3, 2019 at 2:20 pm

One of the finest meals you can eat. Must have the accompanying condiments Tartar sauce, picked gherkin (dill) and ketchup. Proper grub as we say. And may I humbly and respectfully suggest dropping the words "awesome, like and super in every sentence.

Hi Folks. Would love to see you come to Wales and try some of our local delicacies: lava bread – which is not bread, or anything like bread, it's slimey shredded seaweed, but fried in bacon fat and served on toast, is – upon acquiring the taste, more addictive, than the most addictive thing in the world! Then there's cockles (Welsh clams), and…. Well, there's a whole bunch of things here you'd be amazed to taste. Great show. Take care. Raymondo

Hi guys. I moved away from Mevagissey, Cornwall more than 30 years ago and your video of the area has brought back many memories, especially fish and chips and Cornish pasties. I do remember Mr Kelly very well as he gave a lot of casual employment to the local people in the summer season. Thanks for the memory.

  • Reply Ricky Grimshaw August 11, 2019 at 4:36 pm

As a Brit I would live off fish and chips if I could especially living on the south coast so it’s normally fresh 👍 Always buy a pint of strongbow when I go to the local chippy

Snozle as I remember it was called when I was a kid, living in Cornwall

  • Reply Edward Todd August 14, 2019 at 4:33 pm

  • Reply WarrenCromartie2 August 16, 2019 at 11:24 am

Our weather is unpredictable, it's a shame in all of your vids, the sky is grey and you're being rained on! Cornwall is much better in the sun.

Oooooo…..I'd LOVE to try fish and chips in Great Britain. I know you can make it at home, but sometimes there's no substitute for authentic. I can make Swedish meatballs at home too, but the ones I had in Sweden were absolutely to DIE for!

  • Reply William Butler August 22, 2019 at 7:44 pm

does the fish have a fishy flavor in other words I mean I like fish from a river but not fish from a pond it has more of a stronger flavor I don't like that so what's that fish taste like

  • Reply carolyn witmitz September 2, 2019 at 7:11 am

Like all animal Pate/Foie gras , the animals are "'Forced Feed" , to fatted the liver or animal as in the meat for the pate , Cruelty ! no matter how one looks at it … I would also mention the Seagull , S & V , though plenty have done so already . Not just a UK thing , also a Aussie thing . We don't serve Fish & Chips in News Paper , but white Butchers Paper (due to very good Food Regulations) In New Zealand they still wrap in News Paper
