Hello Guys,
I am Sidhant Jain & welcome to the channel Merchantnavyguruji. Ah…well, I know that what are you thinking
where was this guy, this guy has not uploaded any video since last two months
So actually, I was working on something that really going to help you and I am going to
launch it at the end of August or maybe in the first week of September,
so we will talk about today’s video. All ships need repair work at some point in
their working lives. So today I am going to talk about Ship Building
& Repair course, its eligibility criteria, what is the course fee, which college offers
you this course, etc. So watch this video upto the end, if you want
to know all the details. Before that if you have not subscribed to
my channel then pls subscribe and press the bell icon to get latest notification of my
new videos. So, Ship Building is a combination of Art
and Science. The aim of theis course is to train candidates in a view to perform Ship
floor work at Ship Building & Ship Repair Industries. Hence, this course syllabus includes types of ships, welding & cutting, painting, pipelining, material
used,ship design,ship structural details,etc. So let’s talk about course duration:It is
a 3year long graduation course which consists of lectures and practical lab sessions. Let’s talk about eligibility criteria;which
is the most important topic. So first is Age Limit, the age limit is same
as others courses that is the minimum age to join or to take admission
in this course is 17 years and the maximum is 25 years. Let’s move towards education qualification,
so the candidate must have done 10+2 in PCM(Physics, Chemistry & Maths) with an average marks of
50% and 50% marks in English in 10th or either in 12th. But if you belong to SC/ST category, you may
have get a relaxation of 5% PCM marks, in average of PCM marks, but not in English marks. Means if you are from General category, OBC
category or SC/ST category you must have 50% marks in English either in 10th or 12th. So,the next is Medical Test: The candidate
must have 6/6 eyesight and should be physically fit. So, now let’s talk about course fee, sooo..ahh..well
the course is somewhat fine and you’re getting this much of knowledge,
so what is the budget of this course? you’re thinking off. So,it’s about 8 lakhs. So,lets’s talk about career & job prospects:
After completing this course, you can start your career at Junior management level postion
in shipyards. Ya.. in Shipyards. At first, you will become Assitant Manager/Intern/Floor
Executive having a payroll of 25,000 – 50,000 per month
and then if you do PG in Ship Production then you may get promoted to Deputy Manager which
having a payroll of 75,000 – 1,25,000 per month
then after if you do MBA in Ship Building & Port Management then you can get a salary
of 1lakh-3lakhs and you will get a position of Manager
then after you may get ah.. having some working experience and after sometimes you may get
promoted to Deputy General Manager which is having
a payroll of 3 – 5 lakhs and after you may get promoted to General Manager which having
a payroll of 7 -10lakhs and last the maximum position you can be at after
doing this course is CEO(Cheif Executive Officer) after certain working experience and it depends
also on your company may be 20lakhs or maybe 15lakhs
depends. So successful candidates may get work at shipyards, ship
building companies, oil & gas firms (at offshore units) and of course at Port and harbours. Sooo, those who guys are willing to join Merchant
Navy but don’t want to work onboard so this course is really for you guys. So, you may ask ok which is college that is
DGS approved and IMU affiliated that offers you this course? College of Ship Technology which is located
in Palakkad is the only institute in India which offers you this course. That is DGS Approved & IMU affiliated which
has 80% of campus placement. So , its intake capacity is only of 40 candidates in a year. So the last question you will ask that how
can I get admission inthis course and in this college? So, the candidate must have to qualify or
must have to satisfy first the eligibility criteria that is Age Limit, Educational Qualification
& Medical Test. Then you have to appear for IMU_CET and clear
it & qualify it then you can get admission in College of Ship technology, Palakkad. So I may say that’s all about Ship Building
And Repair course. So I must announce you that I am going to
release a video at the end of this August or may be in the first week of September that
really useful for you those who are willing to join Merchant Navy course
or those who have already completed Merchant Navy course this video is for you all. So that’s all in today’s video, we will talk
more about Merchant Navy related details in my next video.
