THE BEST BEACHES IN KUTA, LOMBOK

January 14, 2020

Hello, from Kuta in Lombok. I’m back here after four years of a little
break from this island. Last time I came, I basically only climbed
Rinjani and went to the Gili’s and basically left. So, after seeing that there was a lot more
cool stuff here on the internet, I decided to come back. And this time I’m staying in Kuta, which last
time I was here, was just this tiny, little town and now it’s a bit more stuff going on
here. So, yeah, I’m super excited to get on a motorbike,
which I also haven’t done in a few years. So, I’m a bit nervous and just go explore
a little bit. So, are you ready? Let’s go. Alright. So, just had my first little motorbike adventure. Went like a solid 15 to 20 kilometers per
hour, like the whole time. And I would not say that that was a perfectly
paved road the whole time. I encountered a lot of sand and dirt and bugs. So, yeah, that’s why I was going so slow,
but, I finally arrived at Mawun Beach. It’s my first beach. So, let’s check it out. Alright. Welcome to Mawun Beach. This one’s okay. There is a lot of, like, wash up on the beach,
but that kinda happens on all beaches, just the ones back home are often cleaned. I think, based on what I saw online, we can
do better, so let’s keep going. We interrupt your regular programming to bring
you, “Cows at the Beach.” You wanna be friends? He looks busy. All right. So, my route has turned to me not drivable. So, I’ll be walking the rest of this very,
muddy way to the next beach, but pictures of it looked insane, so I’m sure it’s worth
it. This is a pretty cool beach. There’s nobody here. I could definitely dig that. No one selling anything, and it’s quite pristine,
and I found this hidden little hut for one. All right. So, this one is called Lancing Beach and it
says, “Welcome to Private Lancing Beach,” on the sign when you come in. And it’s a very clean one, and not many people
around, so that’s nice. Oh, and there’s a swing. There’s a swing. Okay well that one was beautiful. Definitely a spot where you could happily
chill all day, unless you’re me, in which case I just, like, I cannot sit still. So, I’m moving on in search of the best beach
in Lombok. All right. This beach looks a lot busier. Instant no. Too many people. Hello, from Semeti Beach. It is so cool. It’s been a bit of scrambling on these rocks,
which has been really fun, just to check out the different spots. I think it’s all volcanic rock. So, yeah, the drive here is a little bit gnarly,
so be very confident on a motorbike or maybe bring a guide if you’re not. But, this is one of the coolest beaches in
Lombok I’m pretty sure. So, today I decided to walk along the beach
over to this rock here, so you can take a little boat, but I just kinda wanted to walk
along the tide pools, and it took me like 45 minutes from the sunset viewpoint, but
I guess over here it would’ve been quicker. I didn’t know, but now you know. Some tourists here from elsewhere in Indonesia. It’s a holiday today, and they’re very concerned
that I’m by myself. I think they’re mostly just shocked. They’re like, “Be careful.” It’s gonna be okay. Okay. So, now I’m at a place called Sunset Beach,
and, I mean, it’s raining right now, so fingers crossed on the sunset. Well, I can see why people like this one so
much. It is beautiful in every direction. I don’t know how this sunset is gonna turn
out tonight, but still, no matter what time you come here, I think it would probably be
absolutely stunning. So, it might not be my only time. Even though it’s really popular, I can see
why.

We really liked Selong Belanak… when we went, the beach was clean and safe for swimming and surfing. We ran out of time but hubby was going to teach me to surf – Selong Belanak has little waves!
